He put the writing on the wall when running a place at $51 last start at Nowra on rain-affected going and back to his home surface aided by a super ride from John Kissick he was able to record his second victory.
Needing luck from the wide draw, Kissick snagged him back to find a spot and was successful in doing so five lengths from the speed. On straightening he had to ride for luck if he was any chance and pierced a gap at the right time.
With tired horses around him 200m out he picked up better than them in the going to score a soft 1.5L win on the line defeating Bondo ($26) with Alabasta Bay ($6.50) a nose away in third.
It was a fair while between drinks for connections and good things happen to those who wait as they say.
In other results for JJR on the card. Token Of Love ran a very gallant second and Jackalope produced a much improved effort running a third in what shaped as four runners for two winners and two placings on the day. Well Done All.
