No more to pay for the first two years, what does that really mean?
It means exactly that, your initial outlay covers all your costs for the next 24 months. You will not be charged monthly fees following your initial investment, and you will not be charged nomination or acceptance fees while the horse is racing. Your investment also covers: the purchase price, insurance, any incentive schemes for which the horse is eligible (i.e. BOBS), nomination for the Inglis Classic and initial nomination fees for the 2008 Golden Slipper.

Why two years?
The reason we chose two years up front is so that there is no pressure on Barbara to get the horse up and going as an early 2yo if it is not ready. Every attempt will be made to race as an early 2yo, but if we can't, at least two years takes us up until a mid-3yo year which we feel gives members enough time to assess the ability of the horse.

What happens at the end of the two years?
After having two years to assess the ability of the individual, members will then have the option of continuing to race the horse on a year to year basis. Prior to the completion of the two year period we will contact each member and seek feedback on whether they wish to continue for another 12 months. At the same time each year we will then go through this same process.

The horse is owned by the syndicate, it is not leased. Therefore, all decisions in relation to the horse are completely up to the syndicate as a whole. The horse will not be sold or taken away from the syndicate, unless that is what the majority of the syndicate agree to do. When the decision is finally made to retire or sell the horse (whether that is in 2 years time or 8 years time) any funds received from the sale will be distributed evenly amongst the current members at the time the decision is made to sell.

How much does it cost after the first two years?
After the initial two years, you will only be charged for insurance and training fees for the next 12 month period. Given the year to year cost will not include purchase price, incentive schemes, acceptance fees for restricted races, Golden Slipper noms, etc. it will be a lot cheaper than the initial cost.

How will I receive information?
The Joseph Racing website, at www.josephracing.com.au provides you with all the up to date information on the stable regarding recent winners and upcoming runners.

In relation to this specific syndicate, members will receive regular email updates and have access to their very own web page, dedicated to providing up the minute information on their horse. The web page will immediately be updated with any developments. When the horse is spelling or not in full work the information will be generally distributed monthly. When the horse is in full training and in a preparation the information will be distributed on a more regular basis, up to 3 times a week- any news from the stable will be forwarded to the owners as soon as it comes to hand.
